Book Review: Don’t Make Me Think
What you will learn:
Almost everything you need to know about Web Usability. “Don’t Make Me Think” teaches you how (and encourages you to) make usable web sites - web sites that won’t force the user to think to figure out how they work, hence the name: don’t make me think.
Prerequisites:
Nothing. Just a brain and common sense.
Target Audience:
Anyone who owns, runs, develops or designs a web site.
Clarity:
A book can’t be clearer than this. The author uses images, colorful screen shots, diagrams and even occasional comics to illustrate the ideas. Wonderful.
The Good:
- Very clear and effective presentation.
- Short (~200 pages), yet incredibly useful book.
- Will teach you so many things about Web Usability in no time.
The Bad:
None
Bottom line:
One of the most valuable books i have ever read. It’s very rare to find a book that you can read so quickly, and benefit so much from. You’ll probably read it a few times. Definitely a must-get.
